Setup: Email and Banner Web

  1. Go to the SCTC website, http://www.sctech.edu
  2. Click Current Students link
  3. On the Current Students page, click Find My Student Email Address
    • Enter student ID number, last name, and birthdate (using the calendar that appears when you click in the text box)
    • Click Find Email Address (then remember info)
  4. Return to Current Students page
    • At Student Login, click Email/Office 365
  5. On the Microsoft 365 page, type your complete email at the Sign in, then click Next
    • Your first password is “Tigers” + last 6 digits of student ID number (Example: TigersXXXXXX)
      • When prompted to create a password, at the current password prompt, type Tigers and last 6 digits again. Your new password should be 8 characters long, with numbers.
    • Important: To recover your password in the future, provide Password Recovery information
      • Phone number, alternate email, and security questions and answers
    • Click Sign in; you may need to change the time zone to Eastern Standard Time.

Know password. No emergencies.

Record your password in a safe, memorable place and provide your Password Recovery information.

Access: Blackboard and Banner Web

  1. On the SCTC homepage, click Current Students
    • Under Student Login, click Blackboard
  2. Next, click Login Here on the graphic which has a telescope and says “Bb Login to Blackboard”
  3. Then, on the Single Sign On page
    • Enter your email username WITHOUT the @stu.sctech.edu (Ex. ajones2)
    • Enter same password used for your email
  4. Courses appear in Blackboard on day one of class.
  5. On the SCTC homepage, click Current Students
    • Under Student Login, click Banner Web
  6. The Single Sign On page will appear
    • Enter your email username WITHOUT the @stu.sctech.edu (Ex. ajones2)
    • Enter same password used for your email
  7. The Banner Web page will appear.

Get the apps

Get the Outlook and Blackboard apps from the Google Play Store, Apple App Store, or Microsoft Store.

Trouble logging in?

It may be an email issue. Try logging into your SCTC email, first. You may have to reset your email password to get all the apps synced again.

  1. Go to the SCTC website, http://www.sctech.edu
  2. Click Current Students link
  3. On the Current Students page, click Banner Web, http://banweb.sctech.edu
  4. At the Single Sign On page, click Login here where it says “New Students and Alumni”
  5. On the Banner Web Login page
    • User ID: enter 900xxxxxx number – or – your Social Security Number
    • PIN: enter 6-digit birthday (MMDDYY)
      • Example: January 3, 1984 = 010384.

If you are still having issues, submit a helpdesk request:

  1. Go to the SCTC website, http://www.sctech.edu
  2. Click Current Students link
  3. On the Current Students page, click Helpdesk for Blackboard/Email, http://studenthelpdesk.sctech.edu/
    • Submit a helpdesk request
  4. Fill out all blanks, including the Primary (Student) Email and the Alternate Email address (the primary way you will be contacted by the helpdesk)
  5. A successful service request will show a request number on the screen
    • Allow 24 business hours for response
    • Check your SPAM folder in your email
