Blackboard Collaborate

Blackboard Collaborate is a feature in Blackboard that allows students and instructors to connect via audio, video, or instant messaging. Instructors often use Collaborate to provide online lectures to students in online courses. These lectures are usually recorded and will be available in your Blackboard course under the Virtual Room link (on the main course menu).

  1. Click the "Virtual Room" link on your course menu.
  2. Click the menu button at the top left (looks like a black square with three white lines).
  3. Click "Recordings" to view your instructor's recent lecture recordings.
  4. NOTE: If you do not see a Virtual Room link in your course, make sure to contact your instructor to verify whether they plan to use this feature.

Blackboard Collaborate is best supported by the Google Chrome Web browser.
