Wiregrass Respondus LockDown Browser is a special Web browser for testing online or in the classroom. Exams that require Respondus LockDown Browser will be marked as "Requires Respondus LockDown Browser" and students should download and install this software on their computer at home in order to take their exams. Not all exams require Respondus LockDown Browser, so it is important to check with your instructor about these requirements.

Watch this overview video for students.

Respondus LockDown Browser can be downloaded by faculty or students from the following link (note: the link below is unique for Wiregrass Georgia Technical College):

Once Respondus LockDown Browser is downloaded and installed on your computer, you will start the program in order to log-in to Blackboard and take your exams. Make sure that no other programs are running on your computer when you start the browser.

If it is your first time using Respondus LockDown Browser or if you have not done so already, it is important that you update the browser and run a system check.

Respondus LockDown Monitor

Respondus LockDown Monitor is a separate tool included with your LockDown Browser that is used for added security in online testing. There is no cost for students to use either program; however, students will need a webcam for Respondus Monitor. Students are responsible for any costs associated with verification of student identity such as securing outside proctors and/or obtaining a web cam. You will know if your exam requires a webcam if you look at the title of the exam and see ***Webcam*** in the name of the exam.  However, if you are not sure if your exam requires a webcam, you should refer to your course syllabus or contact your instructor.
