HIMT – Health Information Technology Course Requirements

All Health Information Technology classes require the following:

  • Microsoft Office 365.  As a currently enrolled Wiregrass student, you have free access to Microsoft Office 365.
  • A webcam and a mic are required for testing with Respondus LockDown Browser and Monitor as well as for narrated PowerPoint projects and WebEx meetings.
  • USB Flash Drive (8GB minimum) for storage of assignments and materials.
  • Google Chrome and/or Firefox web browser
  • Stable internet connection as students will be requred to complete online modules from third party vendors which require individual accounts.
  • Access to YouTube for videos.

In addition to the above requirements the following courses require:

HIMT 1250 Health Record Content & Structure
  • Utilizes Paridigm EHR Navigator
  • Paridigm Access Code requires the purchase of a NEW textbook

 

HIMT 1360 Introduction to Pathopharmocotherapy
  • Utilizes Mindtap (Access Code and textbook required)

 

HIMT 1400 Code & Classification - ICD Basic Coding
HIMT 1410 Code & Classification - ICD Advanced Coding
HIMT 2400 Code & Classification - CPT/HCPC Coding
