GEORGIA FALL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE 2023
The 34th annual Georgia Fall Leadership Conference was held at the Crowne Plaza Atlanta Perimeter at Ravinia in Atlanta, Georgia with 340 attendees. The theme of the conference was "L.E.A.D. - Lead Engage Adapt Develop" and the top 3 registered colleges were Southern Regional Technical College, Lanier Technical College, and Georgia Piedmont Technical College!
Attendance at the conference included Advisors and Student Representatives from the Georgia Student Government Association, National Technical Honor Society, SkillsUSA Georgia Postsecondary, and Future Business Leaders of America Collegiate. Additionally, 85 attendees represented a variety of Collegiate Student Organizations (CSOs) that cover a diverse spectrum of activities on their campuses.
The 4 major organizations requested that conference participants bring toys, books and items to donate to a variety of charitable organizations. National Technical Honor Society collected 1.125 books for Books for Keeps, Georgia Student Government Association collected 600 toys for Toys for Tots, Future Business Leaders of America Georgia Collegiate collected 700 for Solidarity and SkillsUSA Georgia Postsecondary collected 6 large boxes filled with hundreds of items for Cure Childhood Cancer.
During the conference, attendees participated in a variety of leadership “power hour” sessions covering topics from “Playing Well with Others – Dealing with Conflict” to “Navigating Life’s Challenges Like a Rubik’s Cube” and “Are You Leading With Your Feelings?” Presenters included both community and industry leaders as well as college instructors and staff. Jackie Vernon-Thompson, CEO and Founder of From the Inside Out School of Etiquette, served as the conference keynote speaker. The opening and closing sessions were hosted by the State Officers. Additionally, student organizations hosted delegation trainings and advisors participated in a best practices session. Social networking opportunities were provided during the Friday night bingo game and the Goosechase Scavenger Hunt.
