Global Navigation
The Global Navigation and My Blackboard gives you a personalized view of your learning environment and provides information from all your courses in one location.
Access the global navigation menu by clicking the arrow beside your name located at the top right of the screen.
The page head contains three tabs:
- Albany Tech tab will take you to the Albany Technical College Blackboard homepage;
- Notifications tab will show you the What's New and To Do module;
- Student Resources tab will take you to Albany Tech Blackboard portal page which will give you access to online resources.
Notice the logout button is to the right of the Global Navigation Menu. Always remember to logout of Blackboard (and not just click X to close out the window) when you are finished with your session.
The Global Navigation panel is divided into the User menu and My BlackBoard.The user menu provides access to your courses, tools, and settings. Home and help are located at the bottom. By default, the Courses link is open and shows your courses; the Tools and Settings links will appear closer to the bottom of the menu.
My Blackboard
My Blackboard is the black strip of icons to the left of the user menu and contains timely information for all your coures.My Blackboard shows course communication, due dates, and more. The number on the icon indicates how many new items are available. Students may click on the the icon for direct access to that area. The graphic below identifies and provides a brief description of each icon on the My Blackboard menu.
